More Progress

Endlich regnet es auch in Maiduguri und die Menschen können säen. Auch wenn der Regen spät kam, hoffen sie auf eine gute Ernte dieses Jahr.

Dank neuer Spenden konnten die zusätzlich erworbenen Grundstücke nun mit Mauern eingefasst und geschützt werden. So gibt es nun neues Gartenland, in dem auch schon erstes Gemüse wächst.

It's finally raining in Maiduguri and people can sow. Even if the rain came late, they hope for a good harvest this year. Thanks to new donations, the additionally acquired plots of land could now be surrounded and protected with walls. So there is now new garden land, in which the first vegetables are already growing.

Aber auch der Wohnngsbau geht weiter. Inzwischen konnte das Dach gedeckt werden und das Obergeschoss fertiggestellt.

But housing construction continues. In the meantime, the roof has been covered and the upper floor has been completed.

Auch die Läden sind nun bezugsfertig und dienen hoffentlich bald Handwerk und Handel.

Trotz dieser erfreulichen Fortschritte ist die Not in der Stadt Maiduguri immer noch groß. Vor allem die Witwen, die bisher keine Arbeit gefunden haben, müssen oft hungern. Wie gut, dass auch wieder Spenden für die Lebensmittelversorgung der Ärmsten eingekommen sind und ihre Versorgung wieder für eine Weile sicher ist.

Auch im Kindergarten arbeiten sie weiter. Neben Spiel und Unterricht gibt es auch dort ein gutes Frühstück für die Kinder.
